Claims against professionals

We act for professionals and lead insurers

We have considerable experience in the resolution of claims against professionals for both claimants and professionals who have been the subject of a claim.

Clients naturally wish to preserve confidentiality and to see matters resolved without interruption to business, and where possible, to retain the professional relationship.

We are well used to handling professional negligence claims against accountants, solicitors, architects and surveyors, who all have a strong interest in maintaining their professional reputation and their clientele.

Experience and resolution

We advise on a number of claims of high value and technical difficulty.

We act for Royal and Sun Alliance and the lead insurers under the Law Society of Scotland Master Policy for Professional Indemnity Insurance, as well as for other insurers and claimants in cases involving a wide range of professions.

The team and partner David Flint are both ranked Band 2 for their expertise in this field by industry body Chambers UK

Case Study

We recently settled a claim on behalf of an Insured client arising out of a claim by the widow of the deceased who sustained severe injuries as a result of a road traffic accident, but whose subsequent cause of death was hypoxic brain damage sustained as a result of cardiac arrest in hospital and was not due to the injuries sustained in the road traffic accident.

After full investigation of complex issues a successful settlement was obtained for the Insured client.
