I initially joined Balfour+Manson in April 2012, for a 4 month summer placement assisting our chairman Fred Tyler in the personal injury team, in advance of starting my traineeship. I then took this experience into the first 6 months of my traineeship where I furthered my experience and knowledge of Court of Session work. I spent 6 months working in the residential property department before spending the final year of my traineeship working for David Short, Head of Litigation.
During my traineeship I worked closely with Fred Tyler on Montgomery v Lanarkshire Health Board UKSC 11, assisting with both the Inner House Appeal and the successful Appeal to the Supreme Court.
Paddy was efficient, personable and extremely professional at all times. Most of all however, my husband and I felt that he went above and beyond to assist us and he handled our transaction beautifully. I would have no hesitation in instructing him againJ. Jalicy
I regularly represent individuals in personal injury matters whether it be a road traffic accident, industrial disease accidents, accident at work or a claim involving medical negligence. I represent clients in both the Court of Session in and in the new All of Scotland Sheriff Court in Edinburgh.
I have a growing interest and specialty in aviation cases and have been lucky enough to have attended a meeting of international aviation lawyers to discuss the claims arising out of the MH17 disaster, in Amsterdam. I have also assisted Fred Tyler and David Short on a number of other aviation disasters including the Clutha helicopter crash and the Super Puma disaster in 2013.
Besides personal injury work I am working closely with David Short and an international team of lawyers on environmental claims against whisky manufacturers for property damage.
My aim is to provide the most straight forward, practical and understandable advice possible. If you have been the victim of a personal injury then please get in contact.
