Maternity cover for marketing role

We are looking to recruit maternity cover to manage the firm's marketing role. This is a busy and varied position. We will be looking to cover from around September 2019 for 12-14 months. 

Job Purpose

Responsible for the management and execution of all the marketing for the firm including advertising, client events/seminars, marketing communications including social media, media relations, website, marketing materials, and legal directories.  

Working with partners the role involves supporting the implementation and development of the firm’s strategy. The candidate should be pro-active in considering and pursuing all opportunities for the firm and to promote its services. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities 

General:

  • Manage a budget and stay within strict parameters

    • Administration of Marketing invoices

    • Plan and manage marketing resources according to agreed budgets

  • Sourcing of branded items for Marketing

  • Ensure stocks of literature/Marketing promotional material are always available and replenish when necessary

  • Develop newsletters/brochures/marketing material in conjunction with partners and ensure their circulation

  • Ensure consistency of corporate identity at all times in all marketing initiatives

  • Preparing legal directory submissions and ensuring they are up to date including Legal 500 and Chambers UK Guide to the Legal Profession

  • Collate and maintain library of prior tenders and decisions

  • Promote marketing with staff and ensure internal communications

  • Update daily intranet and liaise with staff to generate content

  • Manage/coordinate charity of the year

Website:

  • Plan and manage the firm’s website ensuring content is up to date and relevant

    • Work with fee earners to generate news content for the website

    • Send through web enquiries to relevant Partner for action

    • Promote news content via relevant social media channels

    • Work with fee earners to ensure profile are up to date

  • Creating newsletters for Client Welfare, Employment and Charities practice groups and sending to all members of the database

    • Keep databases up to date with new & unsubscribe

Events:

  • Develop, implement and plan marketing/business development events and initiatives

  • Managing and executing client events, conferences and hospitality events

    • Maintain and update the database of invitees for relevant practice groups

    • Send invitations out to all members included within the database and managing the acceptance list

    • Creation and distribution of all delegate information and paperwork relating to the event

    • Liaise with the relevant partner to procure relevant information for delegate packs and presentations

    • Manage and instruct internal and external vendors and suppliers ensuring quality and value standards are maintained

Press Releases:

  • Liaise with PR company for issuing press releases for new starts, promotions, relevant news stories, articles of interest. 

Social Media:

  • Have a good knowledge of social media platforms (particularly LinkedIn, Twitter & Facebook)

  • Use social media platforms to generate news / buzz on the firm’s legal services, events, news

  • Keep up to date on developments in social media and identify future channels that can be adopted for part of the marketing strategy

Other skills required:

Candidate must have experience in Microsoft Office package. Experience of creative package like Photoshop desirable but not essential.
